Friends

The other day a school friend and I were talking, and out of the blue she goes "Well you know Melly... not all friends are as close as you and Drew." It made my heart happy to know that not only do I see something special in our friendship, but other people see it too. Drew, you'll never be replaced in my heart. Thanks for being here for me. I will never take you for granted, best friend.

Fill me up God

Ephesians 3:19 - And to know the love of Christ, which passes knowledge, that you might be filled with all the fullness of God.

Fun kids

For those of you that do babysit. You'll understand this post.

Last night I was babysitting for some friends of mine. Yes, I do see them as friends, not as old people. Anyways, their kids are wonderful. They have kids that you WANT to babysit, and spend time with. They have wonderful manners and they are so polite. Plus, they feel like family, and it's always more fun to babysit for people you feel are family, right? So last night we played games, ate supper, played more games, had a dance party, and just had fun spending time together over all. I was sad to put them to bed. But as they crawled into bed, we prayed. Hearing those sweet little voices pray to Jesus made my heart melt. It reminded me to have faith like a child. It reminded me not to come to God, with these big words, that in the end, does anyone really care about anyways? I knew that Jesus heard those prayers last night. It was special.

I love these kids. With my whole heart.

Long drive

Crazy!! Just recently I drove all the way to Red Wing, Minnesota. With a friend. Just a friend. I felt like I was growing up, way too fast. Anyways, we went to Red Wing to see some dear friends of ours. They recently moved there to become senior pastors of a little church just 20 minutes outside of Red Wing. It was a wonderful visit, and I enjoyed every second of it. And when it was time to pack up and say goodbye, I was sad. But my heart felt peace, knowing that every thing that had happened was supposed to happen. There were no mistakes when God called them there, and now I see that. I'm so thankful for the time I got to spend with them, and I can't wait to see them this summer.

~Oh and for all of you that were wondering, I'm currently fasting from facebook, and won't be on until the 28, or maybe longer. Hooray for self determination, and getting closer to Jesus.~

2012

What? It's the last day of 2011? Are you sure?

That's how I feel right now. How did it go by so fast?

I think it's funny how so many people make new years resolutions. They have good intentions, but who actually keeps their new years resolution? Well, I actually kept mine! Last year I posted about my new years resolution . It was to learn more about football. And yes sir-e. I learned more about it, and now I'm totally in love with it.

Oh by the way, Merry Christmas! I hope all of your holidays were bright, merry, and full of love. Mine were.

Happy New Year!

Happy birthday Jesus

For those of you that do read my blog.. Sorry it's taken me so long to get on here again.  Life is so busy. And Christmas is almost here! In only seven days it will be Christmas Eve.. Let's try to remember what Christmas is all about. It's easy to get sucked into all of the Christmas-y things to do. Like baking cookies, getting together with family and friends, receiving/giving gifts.... Those are all good things to do, but sometimes you get caught up in them. And too much of a good thing can be bad. Just keep Christ in Christmas. It really is all about him anyways, right? I was always confused on why we got presents for Christmas. Isn't it Jesus' birthday? Shouldn't He be getting the presents? It's not about us. Don't make it about you. Make it about Him. He's worth it. Especially at Christmas time, when we are celebrating his birthday after all. I love you, Jesus. Happy almost birthday.

Home Rules

Always be honest.
Count your blessings.
Bear each other's burdens.
Forgive and forget.
Be kind and tender hearted.
Comfort one another.
Keep your promises.
Be supportive of one another.
Be true to each other.
Look after each other.
Treat each other like you would like to be treated.
But most important... Love one another deeply from the heart.

What would our world be like if every home lived by these rules?
